Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, asked for greater involvement of university students in programs that contribute to the social and economic development of the province, by presenting solutions.

Mara Quiosa was speaking at the 6th ordinary assembly of the Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola (AEUPA), opened this Thursday, having considered students as agents of political, social and cultural change.

According to the governor, students must stand out in actions that provide work, sustainability and development in different sectors of the region’s social and economic life.

For him, in the country’s current context, university students have a duty to work seriously to rescue and promote moral, civic and cultural values, as well as equality, solidarity and citizenship.

The governor said that associations must be a vector for promoting the democratic state, not limited to the essential pillar of university life.

For his part, the president of the Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola, Nielton Daniel Tima, considered the meeting as an opportunity to discuss and establish goals and paths that will contribute to the country’s development.

The event brings together representatives from the provinces of Luanda, Bié, Huambo, Cuanza-Sul, Zaire and Cabinda.
