Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty 30 technicians and referees from Huíla were, over the weekend, updated on traditional karate-do refereeing techniques, in an initiative by the sport’s Federation.
The trainees spoke about matters related to the topic, basic flag signaling and communication between the assistant referee and the main referee, how to evaluate traditional karate and the central referee’s gestures.
The training was followed by a marathon of traditional inter-style Karate-Do, skating and traditional Jiu-Jutsu, with a view to refreshing the referees with techniques suitable for future inter-municipal and provincial competitions.
On the occasion, the municipal administrator of Lubango, Lisender André, defended more incentives for sport practiced in communities, as a way of contributing to the psycho-mental and physical health of young people and beyond.
According to the leader, practicing sport has several positive effects on health, by reducing the risk of disease and strengthening the immune and cardiovascular systems.
He also warned about the relevance of promoting sports, as a way of awakening the interest of students and the population, in general, in playing football on bare fields in villages, an exercise that helps to spread the sport and produce talent.
