Africa-Press – Angola. With six and 5.5 points, respectively, International Masters (IM) David Silva and Esperança Caxita remain unbeaten in the 45th edition of the National Individual Absolute and Individual Women’s Chess Championship, which takes place in the province of Malanje.
At the end of the seventh round, chess players Gabriel Sapalo and Amorin Agnelo remain in the immediate positions of the absolute individual class, with six and five points.
In the women’s singles, the second position is currently occupied by Gemima Paulo, with five points, while in third place is Ednásia Júnior, who has 4.5 points.
According to the race coordinator, João Silva, today, Tuesday, the eighth round will be played and quick and Blitz matches are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Closing on Friday (24), the 45th edition of the National Individual Absolute and Individual Women’s Chess Championship began on the 16th and features the participation of 45 athletes from the provinces of Luanda, Malanje, Uíge, Cuanza-Sul, Namibe, Huambo, Moxico, Lunda-Sul and Benguela.
The competition will determine the absolute individual national champions, quick matches and Blitz in both sexes.
