Africa-Press – Angola. Identity Card (ID) issuing services in the municipality of Luacano, Moxico province, have continued to be paralyzed for seven months due to an alleged “lack of system”.

According to the municipal delegate of Civil Registration, Identification and Notary of the district, Bernando Yava Capalo, the problem dates back to October last year (2023), and the population has been prevented from this service for seven months.

“From Outro to the present date, we are not issuing identity cards due to the lack of an Infrassat system”, said the person in charge.

According to the person responsible, recently a team of INFRASSAT technicians went to the municipal headquarters, which is approximately 220 kilometers from Luena, the provincial capital, but without solving the problem.

Bernado Capalo said that the inoperability of this service is causing a lot of embarrassment to users, forcing residents to move to other regions of the country in the province, calling for the problem to be resolved with the implementation of mobile equipment for this purpose.

Despite this limitation, he said that the other services, with the issuance of personal ballots and certificates of complete and complete narratives, operate regularly.

Luacano is one of the nine municipalities that make up the province of Moxico, with around 19 thousand inhabitants, the majority of whom are peasants and fishermen.
