Africa-Press – Angola. Liberia expressed, (Tuesday), its intention to increasingly strengthen cooperation relations with Angola, with emphasis on the oil and gas sector.

The intention was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Sara Beysolon Nyanti, in statements to the press, following an audience granted to her by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço.

As special envoy of the Liberian President, Joseph Boakai, he stressed that, during the hearing, at the Presidential Palace, he discussed with the Angolan statesman issues linked to strengthening cooperation between Angola and Liberia.

In specific terms, he said, the meeting served to discuss how the two States could exchange experiences in the field of oil and gas.

In this perspective, he said that the two countries will work towards creating, soon, the Bilateral Joint Commission, with a view to strengthening cooperation relations in the political, diplomatic, economic and commercial aspects.

Recently, on the sidelines of the US-Africa Business Summit, which took place in Dallas, Texas, João Lourenço held a meeting with his Liberian counterpart, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, with whom he discussed bilateral relations.

Liberia, located in West Africa, has an area of ​​111 thousand 369 kilometers and an estimated population of three million 955 thousand inhabitants.
