Africa-Press – Angola. Angola lost this Thursday to Algeria, 1-2, in the quarter-finals of the African Football Championship (CAN) for amputees, thus failing to reach the podium.

Paciência Félix scored the only goal for the National Team, which was losing 0-2, in this competition taking place in the city of Cairo (Egypt).

Taking place at the Petrol Sport stadium, the World champions “México’2018” and African champions “Angola’2019” were unable to make favoritism prevail, ending up succumbing to a newcomer, who only started in 2019.

With this unexpected defeat, the national team will compete in the qualifiers for 5th to 6th places, and can also guarantee qualification for the 2026 World Cup, in which Africa has seven places.

Part of group D in the initial phase, the National Team debuted with a 4-0 defeat against Sierra Leone, followed by another victory against Tanzania, 2-1.
