Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Vietnam will soon open new areas of cooperation in the areas of infrastructure construction, telecommunications, digital transformation and technologies and information, announced this Monday, in Luanda, the secretary for Propaganda of the Party’s Central Committee Communist of this country, Nguyen Trong Nghia.
At the end of the audience granted by the secretary general of the MPLA, Paulo Pombolo, the politician said that the two countries will also strengthen the areas of cooperation, especially in health, agriculture and education, to respond to and meet new challenges.
Regarding the meeting, Nguyen Trong Nghia said that it served to evaluate cooperation between the two parties and countries in the political, economic and social fields.
He highlighted that mutual support granted during the wars for the liberation of Angola and Vietnam was also discussed, as well as aid in international forums.
According to the visitor, the parties agreed to continue expanding exchanges between the two States and closer cooperation through party and social organizations.
Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam, heads a delegation from his country that is carrying out a three-day working visit to Angola.
Angola and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in November 1975 and, three months later, signed the General Cooperation Agreement, an instrument that served as the basis for the opening of several protocols in the Social, Economic and Technical-Scientific areas.
Relations between the two countries are limited to the areas of agriculture, health, education and trade. Around 20 private Vietnamese companies operate in Angola.
Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam has an economy with a focus on the electronics, industrial and agribusiness sectors.
