Manuel Augusto at the Seminar on Ho Chi Minh

The secretary of the MPLA’s Political Bureau for International Relations, Manuel Augusto, declared, yesterday, in Luanda, that relations between Angola and Vietnam are “eye-catching”, especially for young people, activists and party leaders.

Manuel Augusto, speaking at the opening of the Seminar on the Thought of President Ho Chi Minh and Relations between the two countries, said that the act aimed to convey to the activists of both parties the experience of the former President of Vietnam, who gives his name to the avenue where The MPLA headquarters are located.

The politician considered this aspect emblematic, stressing that the MPLA’s national headquarters is located on an avenue called Ho Chi Minh, a fact that leads many to “want to know who this personality was, a leader who indelibly marked the history of the Revolution of Vietnam.”

On the occasion, the Secretary for Propaganda of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Trong Nghia, announced that the two countries will expand, in the coming days, new lines of cooperation, especially in the fields of Civil Construction, Telecommunications, Digital Transformation and Information Technologies, in Health, Agriculture and Education, to respond and meet new challenges.

During the seminar, topics such as “Follow in Uncle’s Footsteps”, “Uncle Ho with Africa” and “African People’s Feelings towards Uncle Ho” were analyzed. The seminar speaker, Cu Hong Thang, highlighted the implementation of teachings of President Ho Chi Minh.

The speaker considered Ho Chi Minh “a noble symbol of true patriotism, combined with proletarian internationalism, from the moment he came to power, in the light of truth, and throughout the ages he always turned to the people of oppressed nations, fighting tirelessly for peace, Independence and freedom in the world”.

The seminar brought together members of the Secretariat of the MPLA Political Bureau, OMA, JMPLA, department directors and offices of the Central Committee, leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam and representatives of the Vietnamese community residing in Angola.
