Africa-Press – Angola. An acquisition of ten thousand medicine kits, estimated at nine billion, nine million and one hundred and ninety-eight thousand kwanzas, was authorized by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, with a view to guaranteeing the maintenance of the stock of essential medicines in the 18 provinces from the country.
The acquisition, formalized by Presidential Order No. 120/24 of May 28, is intended to reinforce medical assistance in health units and also arises from the urgent need to improve the quality of services, within the scope of the National Directorate of Public Health.
The authorization includes the opening of the Simplified Contracting Procedure, using material criteria, for the award of the contract for the acquisition of medication kits.
The Minister of Health is responsible for approving the parts of the procedure, verifying the validity and legality of the acts carried out and concluding and signing the necessary contracts, with the possibility of sub-delegating these functions.
