Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio Victor addressed, on Wednesday, the challenges of the mining sector with a focus on modeling techniques for characterizing deposits.
The person in charge was speaking during the meeting about geological workflow, drilling, geological modulation applied to the oil and gas industry, which takes place from Wednesday until today, at the Geological Institute.
At the opening of the event, Jânio Victor highlighted that the initiative aims to bring together experts in prospecting and exploring mineral resources, oil and gas to promote debate around the challenges facing the Sector in Angola. Among these challenges are the techniques that must be applied to reduce risks with the exploration and production workflow linked to geological modulation.
“Along this path, the technical training of human capital has been reinforced, firstly, then the improvement in equipment and, above all, the improvement of geocentric knowledge of the national territory”, said the official.
The person in charge further explained that the current potential for providing services in the areas of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, surveying and related specialties are framed within the current policy of challenges associated with the Sector that constitute the materialization of the objectives enshrined in the National Development Plan.
“Cutting-edge technology is available, and companies are investing and exploring new reserves. The Sector is in constant development, with national and international companies interested in various subsectors, such as diamonds, copper, rare earths and oil.”
The event was held by the company Seequent under the motto “Geological Workflow – From Drilling to Decision”, according to information released by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, on Facebook.
