Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and the European Union (EU) signed, this Thursday, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Public Finances within the scope of a new technical assistance program.
The protocol for providing “Support for the Management of Public Finances, Public Companies, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Financial Inclusion in Angola” will be financed by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, with the aim of contributing to the promotion of sustainability of Public Finances in the country.
According to the press release sent, this technical assistance is based on three main foundations, namely, Support for Public Financial Management Reforms, Support for the Governance of Public Companies and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and also support for Sector Inclusion and Sustainability.
The initiative, which appears in the EU’s Multiannual Indicative Program (PIP) 2021-2027 for Angola, is also part of the fulfillment of the French Development Agency’s budget support program and the European Union’s cooperation program, called “Support to the Formalization of the Economy, including Social Protection and Support for Public Financial Management”, whose Financing Convention was signed between the European Union and the Government of Angola, in February 2023.
