Bengo intends to vaccinate eight thousand heads of cattle

Africa-Press – Angola. Eight thousand head of cattle will be vaccinated against contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, hematic and asymptomatic anthrax, in the province of Bengo, during the vaccination campaign opened this Friday.

The campaign will last 16 days, 15 of which will be dedicated to the municipality of Dande, which has the largest number of cattle populations in the province, while in Ambriz and Bula Atumba it will take place in just one day.

At the opening of the campaign, the vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector of Bengo, José Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro, appealed to vaccinators not to leave any animal out and asked livestock owners to facilitate the process in order to make it successful.

Bovine Peripneumonia is a disease that attacks cattle and generally affects the lungs and pleura, a layer that covers the chest.

The vaccine aims to prevent animals against disease.

The province of Bengo has around 21 thousand animals, including cattle, goats and pigs.
