Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Portugal expressed, on Thursday, their desire to strengthen cooperation ties in the field of education and training policies, during a meeting between the director of the Staff Office of the President of the Republic, Edson Ulisses de Carvalho Alves Barreto, and the president of Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language of Portugal, Ana Paula Fernandes.
According to a note sent, at the end of the meeting, held as part of the working visit to Luanda by the president of Instituto Camões, it was decided that, in the coming days, the parties will sign new agreements in the field of staff training. The two responsible reviewed several ongoing programs, with emphasis on the Project for the Revitalization of Technical Education and Professional Training (RETFOP) and the National Program for Training and Management of Teaching Personnel (PNFGPD), whose implementation counts on technical participation and co-financing from the Portuguese Government.
Through the Camões Institute, Portugal co-financed master’s courses at the Higher Institutes of Educational Sciences (ISCED) in Benguela, Cabinda, Luanda and Huíla.
The opening of the doctoral course in Primary Education at ISCED Benguela is planned for the next academic year, which will also have the support of the Portuguese Government.
