Africa-Press – Angola. In Luanda, musician Dom Caetano advised new artists to dedicate themselves more to and value national musical styles, especially semba. The author of the hits “Nova Cooperação” and “Vizinha” valued the work that has been developed by some artists of the new generation.
The musician warned of the importance of young people dedicating themselves to their daily activities with coherence and discipline. He also urged them to avoid sensationalism and to maintain emotional balance in order to become good professionals.
Dom Caetano announced that he intends to hold a major concert in 2028 to celebrate his 51-year career at the Belas Conference Centre (CCB). “I am working on the details, collecting funding and seeking partnerships to make this mega show a reality. At the moment, I am only doing occasional concerts at the invitation of some event promoters.”
Regarding the fact that he was the winner of the first edition of “Muzongueh” held on Sunday at Salão Paris, at the main entrance to the Kilamba Centrality, he said that the initiative is dignifying, as well as valuing his career and artistic path.
Musician Dom Caetano, during the tribute held at the first edition of “Muzongueh”, acknowledged that it was not easy to reach five decades of musical career, taking into account the constraints he faced along the way.
The organizer of the first edition of “Muzongueh”, Osvaldo Ernesto, gave a positive assessment of the event and described it as a success. He said that the artistic agenda of the space is vast and ambitious.
As for the next editions, he assured, the project will continue to pay tribute to artists from the old generation of Angolan music, without yet revealing the name of the next guest.
Dom Caetano, who sings the song “Diala dya Hongo”, justified the choice of guests Lulas da Paixão, Robertinho and Proletário, for the show held on Sunday, because they are artists who have worked together and have been together for many years.
