Respect, pride and determination were the demands of the Secretary of State for Sports, Carlos Almeida, during the handing over of the flag to the National Fighting Team, which will compete from the 17th to the 22nd of the current African Championship, in the city of El Jadida, Morocco.
In the event held at the Sports Gallery, Carlos Almeida acknowledged that individual disciplines, especially those of wrestling and combat, have shown a notable development and the Ministry of Youth and Sports is pleased with the achievements, as, in addition to the sports, there is a strong social component.
“It is an honor for us to hand over the flag. We are pleased with the progress of the individual modalities in recent years. We expected a good participation from our national team, although in sport they do not cover results, because on the other side is another team. grit, brio, respect for the athlete and giving the maximum. If you put all the components together, for sure the result will always be positive”, he underlined.
Francisco Kadima “Trovoada”, representing the group, guaranteed the improvement of the past performance. We suffered a lot, the technical team was very demanding, but we believe it will be worth it”.
Manzo Diatuka, Jones Mabungu, Patrício Lame, Jeremias Combi, Armando Ntoya, Ivo Kisungu, Aguinaldo Kiangani, Igor Francisco, Francisco Kadima, Pedro Akibi, António Mabu and Kieto Pacheco are the athletes that make up the National Fighting Team.
