Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Benguela, Luís Nunes, underlined the importance of infrastructure construction and rehabilitation works, mainly in the Education and Health Sectors, during the mandate of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, whose impact on the population life is quite visible, across the country.
During the mass act held in the city of Lobito, in support of the candidacy of the MPLA leader, João Lourenço, for the general elections, Luís Nunes highlighted, among other actions, the works built under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) , which made it possible to provide greater quality, in terms of infrastructure, to the province of Benguela.
Part of these actions is the construction, in the finishing phase, of the University Campus, in the municipality of Catumbela, designed to house all the organic units of the Katiyavala Bwila University.
The MPLA’s first secretary in Benguela said that, as part of this undertaking, the Higher Institute of Education Sciences will gain new infrastructures, with more rooms and laboratories. “The MPLA members are fully aware that investing in the formation of man is an urgent priority”, he said, having made it known “that it has always been like this since his party took over the direction of the country’s destinies”.
Luís Nunes underlined that in the Health Sector there were significant improvements, mainly in the process of medical and drug assistance to the population. Benguela General Hospital, whose services correspond to the wishes of users, is among the infrastructures that have gained technical, clinical and administrative reinforcement procedures.
“We are improving the quality of services at the General Hospital of Benguela. Unlike in the recent past, today we have, in that hospital unit, a hemodialysis service, whose valences allow for dignified care for people who suffer from this pathology”, stressed the politician . He added that, within the scope of this process, the opening of a care area for patients with a delicate clinical condition was also opened, thus reducing the financial expenses of traveling abroad.
