Over the weekend, the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) held a legal square in the municipalities of Cuchi and Cutato, in the province of Cubango, to raise the legal awareness of the local population. According to a press release from the PGR, the event, which aimed to promote the legal culture of the communities, was part of the program commemorating the 50th anniversary of National Independence and the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the institutionalization of the Attorney General’s Office. During the meeting, organized by the local PGR and held in the municipal amphitheatre of Cuchi, the participants raised different concerns, which were promptly clarified by the attorneys present. The PGR delegation to the event, coordinated by the Attorney General Francisco Mendes, accompanied by magistrates from the Public Prosecutor’s Office and legal technicians, was received by the municipal administrator, Severino Sawanda, who thanked the initiative and reinforced the importance of the journey in the growth of the legal awareness of the population.Another similar activity took place in the municipality of Cutato, with the participation of the municipal administrator, who called on the body to replicate actions with the same scope.
According to the press release, the presence of the PGR delegation also served to introduce the magistrate appointed to exercise functions in the municipality of Cuchi, the public prosecutor Paulo Galinha. At the end of the activity, the delegation visited the residence of the magistrate assigned to the municipality of Cuchi and also the Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi, which has been exporting significant quantities of pig iron.
