African Diplomatic Missions in the US Agree to Participate in Business Summit

Africa-Press – Angola. On Tuesday, African Diplomatic Missions accredited in the United States of America met with the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) to agree on the participation of the invited countries in the 17th US-Africa Business Summit. The meeting also discussed the involvement of the African private sector and the sharing of relevant information on the Summit to be held in Luanda from 22 to 25 June.

According to a note sent Online, the meeting was chaired by the president of the CCA, Florizelle Liser, and the Angolan ambassador to the US, Agostinho Van-Dúnem.

The meeting was attended by 15 heads of African Diplomatic Missions accredited in that country.The event’s role in political and economic relations between the US and the African continent was highlighted, as was the international context marked by ongoing reforms in the US, particularly in relation to Africa, carried out by President Trump’s administration, and the role of the private sector in increasing business cooperation and investment in Africa and the US.

The choice of Angola to host the event was also highlighted, given the important role the country has played in the African and international context.

The United States-Africa Business Summit has been held for three decades, the document states.
