Africa-Press – Angola. The Government promised to help Namibia with its oil and gas exploration and production program, based on confirmed reserves this year, after that country’s deputy minister of Mines and Energy, Kornelia Shilunga, requested Angolan cooperation yesterday, in Luanda.
The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, declared that “Angola is completely open” to sharing with Namibia “the good and bad experiences, so that they do not make the mistakes once they have already been committed, with the advantage of the proximity factor. and the removal of migratory barriers for citizens of both countries”.
These statements were made at the 5th Session of the African Congress on Oil and Exhibition, in response to a request for assistance in the field of exploration and production directed by Kornelia Shilunga to African producers such as Angola, Nigeria, DRC, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.
The same availability was expressed by the Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Didier Budimbu Ntubuanga, as well as representatives of the oil companies of Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.
Speaking of cooperation in the field of energy between Windhoek and Luanda, Kornelia Shilunga highlighted Angola as the main supplier of oil to her country, through Sonangol, noting that “this has contributed, to a large extent, for Namibia to be recently recognized as a one of the countries with stability in the distribution of energy products at domestic level”.
The deputy minister attached importance to the principle of cooperation, but recognized the need for support from the other States, given the lack of experience and qualified personnel for the production of crude oil on land and at sea, in relation to countries that are already looking at the process. energy transition underway in the world.
