Africa-Press – Angola. The National Union of Artists and Composers, Society of Authors (UNAC-SA), today appealed to authors affiliated to this institution of copyright and related rights to declare their works to receive for the first time the copyright income in the distribution that will be done soon.
At issue is the recent signing of an agreement with SMARCA (a company specializing in technology and copyright and related matters) that has been operating in the Angolan market since 2020, according to a UNAC statement.
Director Lucioval Gama declared the importance that authors and holders of rights of artistic works declare the works to be reimbursed for their use in radio, TV, digital platforms, shopping, stores and other spaces.
For his part, the Secretary General of UNAC-SA, Eliseu Major, reiterated the importance of public and private bodies that use artistic works in complying with law 15/14 of 31 June so that authors and holders are compensated for their work fairly.
UNAC reiterates its commitment to the dignity and respect of the artistic class and counts on the collaboration of all.
