Imports with Fraudulent Licenses Detected

Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported yesterday that it had detected several cases of irregular licensing and imports made using fraudulently obtained licenses. According to a statement sent, the detection was made as part of the regular audit and inspection activities of the Integrated Foreign Trade System.

In view of the seriousness of these violations and in accordance with the applicable law and regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that strict and immediate measures were being applied, such as the seizure of illegally imported goods, the initiation of criminal proceedings against those involved, as well as the suspension of the authorizations granted to the offending companies to carry out foreign trade activities.

The sanctioning measures also include blocking access to the licensing management systems and the suspension of the official brokers involved in the SICOEX (Integrated Foreign Trade System) platform.

“The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reaffirms its commitment to legality, integrity and transparency in import and export operations”, warns that department of the Executive, which also commits to being vigilant and relentless in preventing and repressing illicit practices that compromise the public interest and confidence in the system.
