The Minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, reiterated yesterday, in Soyo, the commitment of the Angolan Executive to systematically increase social policies related to people in vulnerable situations. The minister, who was speaking at the opening of the 7th Consultative Council of the sector, stated that the development of ethnic-minority communities includes actions to combat poverty, defend the well-being of families, people with disabilities, the elderly, promote women and gender equality and equity.
Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto announced that the monitoring and evaluation of the activities of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that pursue social protection purposes will be carried out through the Institute for the Supervision of Community Activities, recently created under Presidential Decree No. 214/24, of 18 October.
The Advisory Council, he said, provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, improve the strategy and work methodology, and assess current opportunities and constraints, which will contribute to the reorientation of actions related to Inclusive Social Action.
