Country to have National Counter-Terrorism Observatory

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola will have a National Counter-Terrorism Observatory (ONCT), a body responsible for coordinating the collection, analysis, processing and sharing of all information necessary for the prevention, repression and combat of the phenomenon. The ONCT was created by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, by Presidential Decree No. 94/25 of 9 May, and also aims to organise the implementation plans for the actions provided for in the National Strategy for the Prevention, Repression and Combat of the Phenomenon of Terrorism, as well as the articulation and coordination between the contact points for the various areas of intervention on the matter in the plan of national and international cooperation.

The body is also responsible for preparing and updating, with the contributions of the various bodies and services, the National Strategy for the Prevention and Combat of Terrorism, as well as its Action Plan, coordinating the implementation of the National Strategy for the Prevention and Combat of Terrorism and leading the process of reviewing the strategies and implementation plans related thereto.
