Bié raises the bar to reach the estimated production of one million tonnes in the 22022/23 campaign (starts in September), with the arrival in the province of around 1160 tonnes of fertilizers, out of a total of 3557 scheduled for delivery to the farmers, declared Governor Pereira Alfredo.
In the act of handing over the composts to peasants included in agricultural cooperatives, recently, in the commune of Cunje, Pereira Alfredo said that the Government and producers had identified 20,000 hectares of new land in Bié, a province that, despite consisting of 60 percent of land arable land, employs only 20 in agriculture. According to the governor, in the next 30 days, the remaining 2397 tons of fertilizers should arrive, enabling Bié to reach the recommended production.
Producers obtain the fertilizers with a contribution of ten thousand kwanzas per unit, paid in two installments.
