Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic and of the African Union, João Lourenço, left the country, heading to the city of Geneva, Switzerland, where he will speak tomorrow (Tuesday) at the 78th Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO). Before leaving, João Lourenço received farewell greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other members of the Executive.
The President of the African Union will participate in this important global event as guest of honour of the Director-General of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus.
The meeting, which begins today and runs until the 27th of this month, is being held under the motto “A World for Health”, during which WHO Member States will address several global health issues, in addition to marking the signing of the Historic Agreement on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response, which has been under preparation and discussion for four years.
