Africa-Press – Angola. A memorandum of understanding to improve the country’s energy supply was signed on Monday (09) in Macau, by the Angola Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) and the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) company.
A note from MINEA, highlights that the aim of this instrument is to improve the generation and supply of electricity, build drinking water supply systems in municipal and provincial headquarters, as well as secure technical assistance, training and supply of hydraulic equipment.
The document states that one of the Executive’s priorities is to ensure and improve the supply of energy and the operational efficiency of the systems for collecting, treating and distributing drinking water in the country.
The note adds that the initiative is in line with the Angolan Govt’s commitment to increasing the supply, in quantity and quality, of essential energy and water services for citizens.
The minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, heads the Angola delegation working in China.
