Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, held a working meeting on Friday in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, with his Chadian counterpart, Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, to strengthen diplomatic relations and cooperation between Angola and Chad.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 47th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, which ended on Friday (11), in the Equatorial Guinean capital, and focused on promoting bilateral initiatives aimed at intensifying the political, economic and institutional relationship between Angola and Chad.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the holding of the Bilateral Joint Commission, to be held in Luanda or N’Djamena, as well as the promotion of high-level reciprocal visits as a way to boost the mechanisms of consultation between the two countries.

Another of the highlights was the sharing of experiences in the process of regional and continental integration, within the framework of the African Union and sub-regional organizations, with special attention to common challenges related to peace, stability and sustainable development in Africa.

At the end of the meeting, ministers Téte António and Abdoulaye Fadoul reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the historical ties of friendship and cooperation between the peoples and governments of Angola and Chad, highlighting the importance of continuous political dialogue and consultation in multilateral forums.

The meeting was attended by the Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Miguel César Domingos Bembe, who accompanied the Angolan delegation.

Angola participation in this meeting reinforces its commitment to African diplomacy, in a context marked by the search for joint solutions to the challenges affecting the continent.
