A Strategic Platform for Africa

Launched in 1993 by the Japanese government, TICAD has established itself as one of the most important platforms for political dialogue and cooperation for African development.

In addition to African Heads of State and Government, the meeting will be attended by representatives from the United Nations (UN), the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union (AU), and several international financial institutions. The Japanese private sector will also have a strong presence, with emphasis on industrial conglomerates, technology companies, and investors interested in the African market.
