Africa-Press – Angola. The Senegal national team beat Cameroon 98-72 on Sunday in Luanda, thus securing third place in the African Nations Cup in Basketball (Afrobasket), in a game played at the Kilamba pavilion.
The aforementioned winner, according to history, has already achieved this position on five occasions, namely in 1968 (Senegal-Morocco, 67-60), 1972 (Senegal-Egypt, 61-54), 1978 (Senegal – Ivory Coast, 103-72), 1980 (Senegal – Ivory Coast, 96-90) and 1997 (Senegal – Nigeria, 69-48).
Senegalese player Jan-Jacques Boissy was named the match’s top scorer with 40 points.
