Cigarette use can cause death from cardiac arrest or various types of cancer

Africa-Press – Angola. In the world, thousands of citizens use cigarettes, which, according to physician Jeremias Agostinho, can cause sudden death from cardiac arrest and various types of cancer. He added that cigarettes contain about 4,000 chemical substances, which have negative effects on the body.

Sitting on the floor, with his hands on his head, is the young Celestino Munhanga, 19 years old, also known as “Mau Mau”. Average height, dark skin, he wears jeans and a black sweater. In the company of a friend, they robbed a residence in Cazenga, where they subtracted various goods, having been arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC/Luanda).

The use of liamba makes him violent and he has tried to leave, but without success. Joana Paulo, 22, says that she started smoking when she was 12, when her late father asked her to light a cigarette, and today she struggles to quit, while Mariano Adão, 79, only stopped smoking on medical advice, for running life risk.

Experts Talk About The Harm Of Nicotine In The Human Body
Doctor Jeremias Agostinho explains that smoking is harmful to health, creating addictions, dependence and destruction of families.

He added that the main complications resulting from the use of cigarettes are registered in the central nervous system. In the brain, nicotine causes, in many cases, users to have no control over their actions and attitudes, causing addiction.

He explained that cigarettes have about four thousand chemical substances with negative effects on the body. “The way these substances will react varies from organism to organism. The more the individual uses cigarettes, the more dependent he is”.

According to the doctor Jeremias Agostinho, the most critical period is the one in which the person stays one to two days without smoking and starts to have withdrawal symptoms, such as tremor, nervousness, irritation, not being able to sleep, increasing the heartbeat, and may have headache, diarrhea or vomiting.

He made it known that smokers are at risk of contracting certain types of cancer, such as lung, mouth, throat, bladder or other cancers, and that people who smoke may have other cardiovascular diseases, such as high blood pressure, which can often cause sudden death from cardiac arrest.

Jeremias Agostinho said that tobacco can also cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which makes the individual unable to breathe by himself, requiring a device.

“Smokers are more likely to have stomach ulcers, intestinal diseases, and in pregnant women, tobacco can cause problems for the baby, who is born smaller than normal . cervix,” he warned.

As for the drug (liamba), Jeremias Agostinho explained that consumption can generate addiction to crime, resulting in scenes of violence.

“The deviant behavior, after the consumption of liamba, depends on each citizen. In most of the people the liamba causes euphoria, being anesthetized with no tendency to feel pain or remorse for what he does, because it alters the nervous system”, he said, adding that Liamba is widely used by people who commit crimes, such as sexual assaults, robberies, homicides, because the user is left without a weight of conscience.

The Sociologist Marcelino Pintinho
He considers liamba a harmful, strong, destructive drug that stimulates diverse behaviors, including deviant ones, many young people who use drugs are closer to vandalism, riots, robberies and many more crimes.

He defended more openness and knowledge of the reality that involves youth, since the social role of the family is to socialize and instill in young people a certain know-how and being.

The Psychologist Emanuel
Capita explains that human beings are born with their own characteristics inherent to themselves and their experience, which, due to any internal or external alteration, transform them.

He considers liamba a psychotropic substance, capable of transforming the behavior of users. “Many young people when they consume liamba become aggressive”.

He explained that many citizens end up in psychiatry due to the exaggerated use of liamba, with some committing violent crimes.

Detention
Since January, SIC/Luanda personnel have arrested 133 individuals for possession and consumption of narcotic drugs such as liamba and cocaine, most of them men.

During the period in question, 788 kilograms and 496 grams of liamba were seized, as well as 89 grams of cocaine, according to SIC/Luanda spokesman, Chief Superintendent Fernando de Carvalho.
