Africa-Press – Angola. The reference prices of the main products of the basic basket, for the week of May 30 to June 5, registered a decrease of 36 percent, compared to November 2021, due to the activation of the Strategic Food Reserve (REA).
For this period, the REA forecasts indicate that the price of a 25-kilogram bag of wheat flour will cost 8,850 kwanzas, from the previous 23,000, cornmeal will remain at 6,238 kwanzas (previously 13,800) and 50 kilos of sugar will be sold at 18,900 kwanzas, against the previous 24,200.
A 25-kilogram bag of Thai rice drops to 7,200 kwanzas, from the previous 11,737, while 12 liters of soy oil cost 11,000 kwanzas, against the previous 17,450.
The value of a box of 10 kilos of chicken thighs drops to 7,200 kwanzas (previously 10,190) and 25 kilos of Pinto beans drops to 19, 950 kwanzas (previously 24,000 kwanzas).
For the Strategic Food Reserve, the prices in reference are valid for the entire national territory. However, during the period under analysis, in the international market, there was an average increase of 7.31 percent of products in approach, compared to the previous week.
