Africa-Press – Angola. The Portuguese Cultural Center – Camões, in Luanda, opens today, at 10 am, in the Pepetela auditorium, a series of cultural activities, with emphasis on the Short Animation Film Festival, to celebrate the month of children.

For today, the screening, in three sessions, at 10:00, 15:00 and 18:00, of six short films by Portuguese directors, entitled “When the Monsters Se Vai Away”, by Bernardo Gramoxo, “O Cágado”, by Pedro Lino”, “A Ventinha e Candeeiro”, by Filipe Fonseca, “O Gigante”, by Júlio Vanzelere”, “Feral”, by Daniel Sousa and “The Amazing Ordinary Man”, by Paulo Portugal, with free admission.

Also to celebrate Children’s Month, the Camões Institute will inaugurate, on the 8th, a collective exhibition of plastic arts called “Arte na Escola”, by students from the Portuguese school in Luanda.

The exhibition runs until the end of the month and will be open to the public from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. On Fridays, the public can visit the exhibition from 9 am to 1 pm, while on Saturdays, the 18th and 25th, from 10 am to 12 pm.

The Camões program for June also includes the performance of the poetry, dance and music show “Eco-Lógico”, at 18:00 on the 18th of this month. On the same day, starting at 10:00, the theater show is scheduled children – Get, by Paulo Bolota. The show returns to the scene, at the same time and place, on the 25th.

On the 23rd, at 18:00, a jazz concert is scheduled, a tribute to Paul Gil, with the participation of AngoJazz by Dimbo Maquiesse, in the usual “Há Jazz no Camões”, 4th edition.

On the 28th, at 5:00 pm, in the Pepetela auditorium, Camões Centro Cultural Português and Art Sem Letra present, under their heading “Writer of the Month”, Mira Clock, author of the book “Amar Além das Estrelas”, with which she was distinguished in the 2022 edition of the Golden Globes Angola, as Author of the Year.

Mira Clock has been publishing works since 2012. She started in the poetic genre with the book “Desabrochar”. In January 2015, she published the work that consecrated the beginning of her adventure in the universe of prose, “Letters to Um Ex Amor”.

In 2016, after accepting the challenge of writing chronicles for the program “Amanhã é Outro Dia”, from the broadcaster Luanda Antena Comercial (LAC), he launched, in October of the same year, the book “Vozes da Cidade”, a collection of chronicles and other texts on the most varied subjects of everyday life.

In addition to the three individual literary projects, he also participated in some poetic anthologies: “Palavras”, “Sete Pecados” and “O Canto da Kianda”.
