Angola Takes over INTOSAI/CPLP Chair

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola took over the rotating presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (INTOSAI/CPLP) on Wednesday (01) in Luanda, succeeding Guinea-Bissau.

The inauguration takes place at the end of the organization’s 13th General Assembly, happening Wednesday (01).

By assuming the organization leadership, the Angolan Court of Auditors reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the work developed by the outgoing presidency, promoting initiatives that strengthen cooperation between similar institutions, particularly in areas related to climate challenges and sustainable development.

According to the institution, Angola will commit to leading the INTOSAI/CPLP for the next two years, with the aim of contributing to strengthening external oversight and promoting more transparent, resilient public management focused on the population’s well-being.

The 13th INTOSAI-CPLP General Assembly will conclude with the adoption of the “Luanda Declaration,” a document that expresses the joint commitment of the CPLP SAIs to the topic of climate change and its impacts.

During the meeting, the main conclusions of the technical discussions were consolidated and recommendations were presented to strengthen climate governance in the Member States, constituting a direct contribution to public policies for mitigating the climate crisis and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
