Angola-Israel Trade Portfolio Exceeds USD 100 Million per Year

Africa-Press – Angola. Trade between Angola and Israel is valued at over USD 100 million per year, with agriculture, construction, and commerce being the most prominent activities in business between the two countries.

The data was presented on Tuesday in Luanda by Israel’s ambassador to Angola, Leo Vinovezky, who expressed the intention of Israeli businesspeople to expand their investment base in Angola.

Speaking on the sidelines of the opening of the Third Conference on Financing Infrastructure Development in Africa, the Israeli diplomat added that a group of businesspeople from his country are developing projects to invest in the pharmaceutical sector.

“The value of trade between Angola and Israel is still far below the business margin that the relationship between the two countries could achieve. We need to intensify economic diplomacy and raise these figures to a more fruitful reality,” the diplomat said.

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Israel began in 1993, where, in addition to politics, they cooperate in the areas of agriculture, health, education, aviation, civil construction, fisheries, diamonds, security, cartography, and telecommunications.

The event brings together government officials, investors, and experts to discuss promoting public-private partnerships (PPPs), encouraging sustainable investment, and accelerating the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), which prioritizes regional connectivity, digital transformation, and resilient urban development.

Participants will also outline new financing strategies for infrastructure development on the continent, with a special focus on Angola as the host country.

The summit aims to reinforce Africa’s commitment to the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
