Africa-Press – Angola. A Hotel and Tourism school, with capacity for 240 students, was inaugurated on Saturday in the province of Cabinda by the Minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel.
With theoretical and practical classrooms, the enterprise will offer courses in cooking and pastry, table and bar service, decoration, catering, computer science, English, French, hygiene and food safety.
The Minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel, said at the inauguration ceremony that the opening of this infrastructure is part of the National Strategic Plan, which aims to train and empower national staff to further improve the quality of services provided in various hotel units in the country.
For the government official, the investment is a clear sign that Angola is committed to the development of tourism to accelerate the diversification of the national economy.
In turn, the Portuguese Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Pedro Machado, who also witnessed the event, guaranteed that the newly inaugurated school will receive technical support from his country, especially in the process of preparing the curriculum.
The governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu, said that in addition to being a gain for the province, the hotel development also constitutes an added value for the training of professionals in the tourism sector at the regional level.
She called on the beneficiaries to preserve the infrastructure so that it may also serve future generations.
The province of Cabinda has 15 hotel units, 24 guesthouses, 25 hostels, 28 restaurants, 19 snack bars and five pastry shops.
