Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda’s coach, Franc Artiga, stated this Sunday in the country’s capital that finishing errors dictated the 0-1 defeat against 1o de Agosto in a rescheduled match from the 4th round of the National Football Championship, played at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.

In statements to the press after the 90th national classic, the Spanish coach lamented the setback, admitting that, despite the effort and dedication, his players failed to convert opportunities into goals.

Franc Artiga stated that 1o de Agosto converted their only clear opportunity throughout the match into a goal.The coach, who experienced his first national derby, considered that his team played well in the first half, with a clear tactical pattern, but the game became more balanced in the second half.

Regarding his debut in the Angolan derby, he said he felt bad because he doesn’t like to lose, believing that, after four years without beating 1o de Agosto, the defeat will serve as a learning experience.

In turn, the coach of the “RI-20” team, Filipe Nzanza, said that with the victory the team will be very motivated and determined, knowing that the journey will not be easy.With this result, 1o de Agosto occupies 3rd position with 12 points, while Petro de Luanda, with one game less, is 5th, also with 12 points. Recreativo do Libolo is the leader with 16 points, followed by Wiliete de Benguela with 13 points.

At the bottom of the table, São Salvador do Zaire is 14th with seven points, followed by 1o de Maio de Benguela (15th, with 5) and Guelson FC (16th, with 3).
