Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the National Police in northern Uige province, Commissioner Ernesto Haiyamunye, reaffirmed on Monday in Uige province, the need to improve police equipment and infrastructure in the municipalities created under the New Political-Administrative Division.

With the implementation of the New Political-Administrative Division, seven communes in the province of Uíge were elevated to the category of municipality. Currently, the region has 23 municipalities.

The commissioner, who paid a working visit to the municipality of Lucunga, justified that these improvements will strengthen public security and the feeling of tranquility.

In the municipality of Lucunga, the commissioner learned about the operating, operational and infrastructural conditions, the needs of the personnel, among other actions.

The administrator of the municipality of Lucunga, Manuel Fernando Dafula Dias, on his turn, reiterated the municipal government’s commitment to strengthening the corporation’s actions, highlighting, among other concerns, the need to reinforce the fight against crime, strengthen technical and logistical capacity with more vehicles and equipment in the current territories created following the new political-administrative division.
