Public Administration Ministry Launches Wage Compliance

Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS) launched the “Fair Wage 2025” campaign on Thursday in Luanda, with the aim to ensure compliance with the national minimum wage.

The General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) will carry out the initiative, which will involve 200 technicians and run throughout the country until December 18. The campaign’s motto is “Complying with the minimum wage is to dignify the worker.”

The campaign will target sectors such as commerce, industry, service provision, education, property security, and cleaning services.

IGT teams will conduct inspections and raise public awareness in all provinces, reinforcing the state’s presence and promoting a culture of legality in contractual relations and in accordance with the law.

At the launch, Secretary of State for Labor Pedro Filipe stated that the campaign is educational and disciplinary, aiming to guide companies, workers, and society in complying with the national minimum wage.

“The campaign is not limited to coercive action. It combines inspection, awareness-raising, and labor guidance to promote shared responsibility between employers, workers, and the state,” he said.

The new national minimum wage of 100,000 kwanzas entered into effect on September 16 of this year, except for micro and start-up companies, which is set at 50,000 kwanzas.
