Africa-Press – Angola. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Angola, Kwangjin Choi, expressed, on Thursday in the city of Cabinda, his country’s interest in investing in the region’s maritime transport sector.
Speaking to the press at the end of the audience with the Governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu, the diplomat said that South Korean businessmen intend to supply ships for the transport of passengers and cargo to this geographically isolated region in northern Angola.
The diplomat added that, during the meeting with the Governor of Cabinda, the intention of South Korea to invest in the province’s agricultural sector was also reviewed, taking into account the region’s potential in this area.
The ambassador recalled that, since the official visit last year of the Angolan President João Lourenço, to South Korea, cooperation between the two countries has gained greater momentum, noting the presence of South Korean companies at the last edition of FILDA fair, where they exhibited more than 40 different products.
In Cabinda, the ambassador visited the local refinery, the Malembo Thermal Power Plant, the Port of Cabinda and the Maritime Passenger Terminal.
