Africa-Press – Angola. The first Advisory Council of the Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing (MINOPUH), which began on Monday, December 1st, in the municipality of Cabiri, Icolo e Bengo Province, and which includes technical sector officials and businesspeople, concludes this Tuesday.
For two days, officials, including directors and vice-governors from Angola’s 21 provinces, are analyzing issues concerning the status of ongoing works, their quantity, maintenance, contract values and future prospects, aiming to improve the living conditions of citizens.
On the opening day of the event, minister Carlos Alberto dos Santos reviewed the actions developed by the sector he leads from 2022 to 2025, highlighting, despite the adverse financial situation, the construction of various road infrastructures, bridges, and urban centers, which has improved the quality of life for hundreds of Angolans.
On the final day of the event, conclusions are expected to be presented regarding the perspectives to be adopted in the 2025/2027 period, within the framework of the 2022/2027 program and the 2023/2027 Municipal Master Plan (PDM).
The meeting takes place under the theme: “The challenges of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing in improving the living conditions of citizens,” and among other topics, on the first day it analyzed “the current status of actions, containment and stabilization of natural risks”, such as ravines, maritime and river works, “construction and rehabilitation programs”, as well as “maintenance and conservation of road infrastructure”.
