Africa-Press – Angola. In all, 231 cases of evasion of paternity were registered, in the period from January to May of this year, in the province of Huambo, by the Office of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, informed yesterday, the head of department of that institution.

That official was concerned about the increase in the number of cases of escape from paternity, since last year 86 were registered and only from January to May of the current year 231.
He promised that the institution he directs will continue to develop lectures to discourage citizens who still practice this evil. “A father who does not honor his obligations voluntarily can be sanctioned because he should be the guarantor of the family’s stability,” she declared. the negative impact of these criminal acts: “Escape from paternity, as well as violence against women constitute a global problem, being a disgrace to societies and creating an obstacle to their inclusive and sustainable development”, he considered.
The department head of Social, Family and Gender Equality also said that extreme poverty rates, lack of education and other opportunities are at the base of the vulnerability of women and girls.
