Africa-Press – Angola. Angola Airlines received on Wednesday, at António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), in the province of Icolo e Bengo, the newest aircraft in its fleet, the Airbus A200-300, with the registration D2-TAJ.
This information is contained in a press release adding that the incorporation of this latest generation aircraft is in line with the 2024-2029 strategic plan and signals the focus on the modernization and transformation of the Company.
TAAG’s Airbus A200-300 has a total capacity of 137 passengers, in a configuration with 12 seats in business class and 125 in economy class, standing out globally for its high operational performance, in terms of efficiency in fuel consumption and reduction of environmental impact.
With the inclusion of the fourth Airbus A200-300, TAAG consolidates its multi-brand strategy, reinforcing its fleet with a modern, versatile aircraft, with high comfort and convenience for passengers, bringing greater competitiveness and capillarity to the coverage of destinations in Africa.
The new aircraft was named “Luvili”, in homage to Angolan cultural identity, evoking Mount Luvili, one of the largest rock formations in the world, located in the province of Huambo, in the commune of Alto Hama.
The adopted name reinforces TAAG’s commitment to valuing national cultural and geographical references, integrating them into its modern fleet.
According to the note, this delivery is part of the order cycle carried out with the lessor (leasing entity) Air Lease Corporation (ALC) and represents another step in the process of renewing the TAAG fleet, within the scope of the Company’s growth vision in Africa, and compliance with its strategic pillars in terms of operational excellence, commercial superiority and connectivity and hub offering.
