Africa-Press – Angola. The Port of Lobito won on Wednesday the quality award given by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In 2024, the Port of Lobito was recognized by the same organization in Vienna, Austria, with the Quality Choice Award.
This latest distinction from ESQR reinforces the company’s reputation as a continental reference in management, innovation, and rigorous quality standards.
Manuel Tavares, the Strategy Director of the Port of Lobito, received the award on behalf of the Board of Directors. According to Tavares, the port company consolidated three international certifications in the last year: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
He believes these certifications demonstrate the port’s dedication to quality, sustainability, and operational safety.
“These international certifications and awards confirm that the Port of Lobito is playing an increasingly important role in the African port context,” he said.
