Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and fifty-three individuals who contributed to the defense of the nation, the promotion of culture, sports, and development began to be honored Monday, by the Government of Cuando.
The tribute is being held as part of the first anniversary of the province of Cuando and the celebration of 50 years of National Independence, an event led by the governor, Lúcio Gonçalves Amaral.
The first honorees are from the categories of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Nation, Resilience and Development, Security and Public Order, and Culture and Sports.
Regarding the tribute, Lúcio Amaral said they are good sons of Cuando and Angola, who have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to the achievements reached to date.
Domingo Incha, a former combatant and communal administrator of Murilo from 1992 to 2015, acknowledged the Government’s initiative, a fact that occurs at a historic moment, marking one year since the institutionalization of the province.
Former FAPLA combatant Delezi Vihoma recalled that her physical disability in one of her lower limbs was due to her dedication to the cause of the homeland, expressing her satisfaction with the tribute and hoping for more support for all those in her condition.
The next tribute will take place in January.
