CASA-CE discusses elections with American diplomat

Africa-Press – Angola. The president of CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, received, on Wednesday, 8, at the coalition’s headquarters, in Luanda, an American delegation, headed by Todd Bemear, political attaché of the US Embassy in Angola, with whom he discussed issues related to the the political context in the country, with particular attention to the ongoing electoral process.

A note from the Presidential College, CASA-CE’s top body, states that, during the meeting, Manuel Fernandes defended the need for transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

The head-of-list of the coalition in the general elections of 24 August pointed out ways that an eventual government of CASA-CE could follow to improve the existing social framework in the country, in case of victory in the fifth general elections of the country.

CASA-CE is the third political force in the National Assembly, behind the MPLA and UNITA. In the coming days, it will publicly present its government program, resulting from a public consultation it carried out in the country.

The public consultation aimed to seek contributions from society to enrich the program that the coalition intends to implement in the event of victory in the general elections on 24 August.
