The Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA) has made available more than 2.3 billion kwanzas to finance six agro-industrial projects in the Provinces of Luanda, Icolo e Bengo, Malanje, Huambo and Namibe, within the framework of the “Transforma Aqui” program, the chairwoman of the institution, Felisberta Francisco, announced on Friday in Luanda.
She was speaking during the official launch of the government’s communication program named “Angola Produz” (Angola Produces).
Among the beneficiaries of this loan, under an agreement signed on the same day, is the company A.K-M.B Okupanga-empreendimentos, located in the province of Icolo e Bengo, where it intends to develop chicken meat production, generating more than 100 jobs.
The second company to collaborate on the contract with FADA was Brangolana Limitada, located in Namibe Province, which will implement a plant to process fuit, garlic and piri-piri preservation, employing 15 new workers. Another company in this province which also benefited is “Porcos do Deserto, Comércio e Indústria”, dedicated to the pig farming and slaughter.
This company manages over 24,000 pigs and slaughters approximately 16,000 per year.
In turn, M.J.B.S. – Comércio, Indústria e Agricultura also benefited from a loan to implement a poultry slaughterhouse in Luanda.
The fifth company to benefit is Azimilda Plante-Serviços, LDA, located in the province of Malanje, to develop a coffee cultivation and processing activity, with a volume of 500 tons per year, generating 32 jobs posts.
However, the last company to receive support was Mazael Sociedade Comercial, which will implement a milling industry, dedicated to the production of wheat flour, corn, and animal feed, in Huambo Province. This factory will have an installed capacity to process 5,400 tons per year, and in its first phase it is expected to create 37 jobs.
Regarding this, Felisberta Francisco, who signed the contracts, said that the objective is to value local production, create jobs, and integrate production chains.
She emphasized that the “Transforma Aqui” program has already financed 12 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise projects, totaling 4.3 billion kwanzas, which served to support the installation and modernization of small processing industries in areas with proven agricultural production.
The FADA representative mentioned that this program is accessible to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, which offers financing conditions that include a two-year grace period, an annual interest rate of 7%, and flexible terms of up to 84 months.
