Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan motorcycle rider Ricardo Jorge, from the Francisco Amado Jhon (FAJ) team in the province of Cabinda, won on Sunday (01) the international motocross competition held as part of the activities commemorating Feb 4th, a public holyday that marks the Start of the Armed Struggle against Colonialism for National Liberation.
Ricardo Jorge easily won the Queen class, also known as 450 cubic centimeters.
Rider Sebastian, from the Nave Trans team of the Republic of Congo got the 2nd position, while Angolan Custódio Neto took the 3rd one.
In the Moto 4 category, Edson Sebastião, from the Lazer Mota team of Luanda, was the big winner, while Nilton Gama and Sargento Sara finished in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
The event featured 19 drivers, including two from the province of Cabinda, 10 from Luanda, and 7 from the Republic of Congo.
Speaking to the press at the end of the competition, the governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu, highlighted the passion that the people of Cabinda have for the sport.
On the occasion, the governor expressed joy with the fact that the province of Cabinda was chosen to host the main event in the commemorations of Feb. 4th, to be held on that day.
