Africa-Press – Angola. The trade balance between Angola and Indonesia reached 1.86 billion US dollars in 2025, marking an approximate 7.46% growth compared to 2024, announced the Indonesian ambassador to Angola, Mirza Nurhidayat, on Thursday in Luanda.
Speaking at the Angola-Indonesia Business Forum, held under the theme “Connecting Indonesian and Angolan Companies: Partnership for Sustainable Growth,” the diplomat stated that, from 2020 to 2025, trade between the two countries increased by 84.34%, with a particular focus on the oil sector.
Nurhidayat, who is also the ambassador to Namibia, said that Angola is now among Indonesia’s main economic partners in Africa.This result demonstrates the solid and promising bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Mirza Nurhidayat stated that his presence in Angola marks the beginning of a new phase in the countries’ cooperation, and he will hold meetings with local authorities to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and investment projects with Indonesian entrepreneurs.
He stated that, in addition to the oil sector, which marks Indonesia’s largest presence in Angola, Indonesian entrepreneurs are interested in investing in health, education, manufacturing, agriculture, and rice production.
“Within the next six months, Angola may begin to experience a greater presence of Indonesian investments as part of the expansion of cooperation between the two states,” said the diplomat.
He said that the Indonesian Embassy in Angola is working to mobilize companies with experience in food security, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods that align with Angola’s development priorities.
The Indonesian diplomat emphasized the importance of the private sector in transforming political orientation into concrete results. He added that continuous dialogue between governments, business associations, and investors is essential in overcoming practical challenges such as logistics, financing, and market access.
The diplomat mentioned that Angola and Indonesia share a history and a clear vision of sustainable growth, blue economy development, and equitable prosperity.
“Together, we can transform Luanda into a symbol of South-South cooperation, a sustainable trade hub, and an inspiring example of Asia-Africa collaboration for future generations,” he said.
