Africa-Press – Angola. At least 500 patients will be treated in the 2nd edition of the intensive free oral health campaign, which began on Saturday (07) at the Evangelical Hospital in the municipality of Caluquembe, southern province of Huíla, promoted by a team of Brazilian missionary doctors.
The medical campaign, lasting 15 days, takes place within the framework of the institutional diplomacy of the Evangelical Synodical Church of Angola (IESA) with missionary doctors from that South American country.
During the mentioned period, various oral health services are being offered, including restorations, cleanings, prophylaxis, surgeries, tooth extractions and, for the first time, the placement of dental prostheses, aiming at the aesthetic and functional rehab of patients with missing teeth.
Oral health specialist César Júnior said that the initiative’s main objective is to serve the community and improve the population’s quality of life, and it aims to surpass the 350 patients served in Feb 2025.
He pointed out that the campaign has two specialists, three fewer than in the previous phase.
According to the source, this is a medical project that is part of the social responsibility program of the Evangelical Synodical Church of Angola and aims to strengthen oral health services in the municipality, within the framework of international cooperation.
