Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda and Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito (CPPL) will face each other on Tuesday at the ISPTEC pavilion in the Angolan capital, in a second-round match of Group A of the “Unitel Basket” National Senior Men’s Basketball Championship.
The Petro team, which finished the first round undefeated and leading the group with 10 points, enters this decisive phase aiming to maintain its positive record and secure qualification for the quarterfinals.
CPPL, representing the province of Benguela, occupies fourth place with seven points.
With more modest objectives, the Lobito team seeks to surprise in a group considered elite, which also includes other title contenders, namely 1o de Agosto, Sporting de Luanda, and Interclube.In this stage of the competition, only Group A is played over two rounds, while Group B plays only one.
The top two teams in Group B qualify for the quarter-finals, joining the teams that qualified from Group A.
The sixth round of Group B is scheduled for Wednesday (11). After this there will be a break until March, during which time the National Team will be involved in the qualifying window for the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
